Hi Arizona86002! I see you have been around for a while, making good contributions, but noone has welcomed you yet. It's about time someone does it. I am very happy to see the Navajo Wikipedia getting some content at last. Are you a native speaker? Do you happen to be a Navajo Indian? If so, you might consider recruiting other contributors to the project. Think about how popular Wikipedia is: if it grows into a substantial encyclopedia containing thousands of articles, it will certainly help preserving the Navajo language! Greetings Steinbach 18:26, 31 Ghąąjį 2008 (UTC)

Hello. It would be great if you'll add introducing sentence and interwiki to your articles. Regards, Hugo.arg 21:46, 12 Yas Niłt'ees 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Anthony, could you please translate the English sentence in Template:User_nv into Navajo? It is supposed to appear on your user page, Choinish'įįhí:Arizona86002, in Navajo. Thanks. Stephen G. Brown 19:30, 13 T'ą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

Articles

Hi, Anthony, you haven't written in a while. I miss seeing you write articles and I like trying to read them. I'd love it if you could write an article every week or so. —Stephen 09:20, 2 Ya'iishjááshchilí 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Anthony, are you on vacation? I always look to see if you have written something new. You're a good writer.

Can you tell me what Wótáahgoo ałnaa'áłt'ahi' means? I want to make a link to the English, if possible, but I can't understand this word. —Stephen 04:10, 7 Bini'ant'ą́ą́ts'ózí 2009

Wótáahgoo ałnaa'áłt'ahi' is astronaut. Sorry I have not been on here in for some years. I was buzzy w/ schooling and working full time. I am planning on coming back and writing more on wiki in Dine' bizaad.

Response

Wótáahgoo ałnaa'áłt'ahi' means astronaut or cosmonaut. i have been on vacation in San Diego, CA. Sorry i have not writen anything again.Arizona86002 (talk) 16:12, 3 Yaʼiishjááshchilí 2023 (UTC)[haneʼ bichʼįʼ áńdeeshdlííł nisin]

Another word

Hi, Anthony, I hope you are enjoying San Diego. Can you tell me the English for Tó ya'nida'aazgééd? Also, when you have time, could you translate some of the names here: Template:Béésh Bich’ahníí Bikéyah. I already have the names for United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Germany there, so you can see how it is done. Thanks in advance, no hurry. —Stephen 14:16, 26 Bini'ant'ą́ą́ts'ózí 2009 (UTC)

Tó ya'nida'aazgééd means canal being built/made/dugged (Verb usage).

Here is another one for you, Anthony: Ałhí'ayiiltááh. Does this word mean "math"?

By the way, when you write a comment or note, you can put ~~~~ (4 tildes) at the end. That will automatically sign your name and put the date. —Stephen 21:46, 29 Bini'ant'ą́ą́ts'ózí 2009 (UTC)

your opinion...

Hello/Yáʼátʼééh... look at the top of your talkpage... "Choinish'įįhí baa yinísht'į́" -- does that sound weird to you? I feel like I am "molesting" people... not sure, but wouldn't "Choyoołʼįįhí bichʼįʼ yáshti" be better?

Ahéheeʼ Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 12:24, 5 Bini'ant'ą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

by the way...

By the way, I gave Íiyiisíí Naaltsoos an overhaul, and I'm currently building colorful boxes for most pages. All the lists you were adding to are still there. Just click on "nááná..."

Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 19:01, 6 Bini'ant'ą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I well remember that.

K'ai' biłha'haaztéél (kanab, UT) and K'ai bitó (Kaibeto, AZ) are two different places, can u remove the redirected function on it . Thank you.

Apologies. I jumped the gun. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 19:24, 6 Bini'ant'ą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

It is okay, your doing a great job.

The buttons

I have a favor to ask of you once you have the time...

I have begun trying to render the buttons and links on the frontpage into Navajo, but need your input on what sounds right and what doesn't. Having more than one pair of eyes look at it is probably helpful. So when you have time, just look at the main page (Íiyisíí Naaltsoos), that small stuff on the left and top, and tell me if it makes sense. I can change any of those words in seconds.

I hope you stick around, your input is invaluable. Thank you so much/Ahéheeʼ nitsxaago. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 20:15, 16 Bini'ant'ą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

Article request

Greetings Arizona86002, would you be so kind to help me translate part of this article into the wonderful Navajo language? It's about a Chinese philosopher and is listed as one of the articles every Wikipedia should have. 1-2 lines would be enough. Please. Your help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you very much. -- en:User:Biŋhai

I left him a message at his English page. If you like, you can try, but we should cover Navajo-topics first... no? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 05:42, 30 Biniʼantʼą́ą́tsoh 2009 (UTC)

"Dééhdį́į́"

Sorry, but the image you uploaded for "Dééhdį́į́" isn't free of copyright :(

Found a different one, also has four horns.... would this count as "Dééhdį́į́"?

Another thing, please have a look

I was being creative... please look at this: Dlǫ́ǫ́ʼ Ntsxaaígíí -- what would you call it? Is there a word for it? (it's 4feet long and weighs 140 pounds) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 00:30, 18 Ghąąjį 2009 (UTC)

it's just a minor thing:

The end is

(you used </ref> for both beginning and end) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 04:17, 18 Ghąąjį 2009 (UTC)

(by the way, I see we have the same book -- did you ever go to Diné College?)

I moved the picture of the pronghorn into the main box. Hope that makes more sense now.

I am using that word for some descriptions. Tell me if that doesn't make sense (all of them can run pretty fast ("dijádí") as far as know).

[[E'elyaaígíí:Oryx Gazella Namibia(1).JPG|thumb|250|left|Jádí bideeneezígíí

Ocelot...

"Másí łikizhígíí ałchinígíí" --- is two times "-ígíí" OK or should it be "łikizh dóó ałchinígíí" ?

My first choice was actually Náshdóí, but then I thought people might think of a leopard. So you're right, let's make it Náshdóí, and call the leopard Náshdóítsoh. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 19:28, 24 Ghąąjį 2009 (UTC)

Animal-names

Since they are local, I'm assuming there are specific names for these, and I cannot "invent" something:

  • Wolverine
  • Coati
  • Opposum

what do you call them? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 23:33, 27 Ghąąjį 2009 (UTC)

yeah. Young&Morgan is on my desk, too. I just thought you might know something that book doesn't tell me. Thank you. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 03:40, 28 Ghąąjį 2009 (UTC)

I'm almost certain there are more mistakes or things that sound weird... tell me whenever you find something "odd" in my "word-creations".

Apart from that, I am running out of words/ideas for more animals. Thank you/ Ahéheeʼ Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 03:58, 7 Níłchʼitsʼósí 2009 (UTC)

Glad you like it. I enjoy doing this -- and I learn stuff... I didn't know there was Hopi-land near Tó Naneesdizí. I will update the other maps as well over the next days.

cherry-stuff

I came across something interesting: I know the picture dictionary gives bįįh yildeeʼiʼ with a picture for regular cherries, but then I looked it up in Young and Morgan -- it says "ground cherry" which is this (picture) (seen it a few times in a store somewhere). It's native to North America. Maybe that's the original meaning of "deer's horn". So I'm thinking: call all cherries "didzéchííʼ" and put the picture of the ground cherry for "bįįh yildeeʼí".
