Summary

Description

A small heavily spotted forest pipit which is confined to a very few patches of forest in coastal Kenya and the Usambara hills of Tanzania. Little is known about this endangered range-restricted species. We watched two birds feeding on the forest floor where they took spiders and small snails (which they seemed to be able to remove from their shells intact).

I found them to be very difficult wee birds to photograph due to their hyperactivity and the poor light levels on the forest floor.
