Welcome to the Navajo Wikipedia.

We are aware that the quality of the language used here is subpar. Until we have native contributors who can create content in proper Navajo, this site is intended to be a sort of placeholder. We hope it will inspire contributors to add whatever content they can. Although this site is currently maintained by non-Navajo individuals, when native speakers arrive complete control should be ceded to them. In no way is this intended to remain a bilagáana-run site, we recognize the right of the Navajo people to control their destiny and their own language, so we are eager to let them build their own autonomous encyclopedia here with as much or as little input from us as they should desire. All site content is customizable and may eventually be modified and replaced by the diné community and/or its representatives.
