Description
English: Prunus serotina or Blackcherry is distinguished from Prunus Virginiana chokecherry, by the leaves the first, blackcherry has numerous blunt edges along margin and is dark green and smooth. The blackcherry tree is up to 20 meter in height. The chokecherry leaf has numerous sharp edges along margin and is shiny and dark green. The chokecherry is a bush up to 8 meter in height, with reddish brown bark. Source Edible wild plants A North American field guide. In Saskatchewan we have bushes and not 20 meter trees.
